Let me start by saying great website.

Im openly gay and not sure if you cover gay dating/relationships but advice is needed!

So recently i decided i needed to have more confidence, so i decided to do something ive never done before..
Ive had this woman on my facebook for ages now.. We havent spoke much before but when we did she was really nice to me.. Shes 27 and im 22.. Shes also openly gay. We havent actually met before but shes a really attractive woman so i thought f**k it im gonna ask her out for a drink. Whats the worst that could happen!

To be honest i expected to be ignored but heres what i got back..

…Is this a friendly brush off or a genuine maybe? Cause she could have just ignored me or told me to take a hike right? Do i let her know when im around in her town or do i leave it? Id love to meet her but also dont wanna ask her again if this was a friendly brush off.

It’s not a brush off — it’s an invitation with her hesitation because of your age difference. She’s saying that she finds you attractive for being so confident and is possibly interested (not bad for never having met in person!), but she isn’t sure you’ll follow through because lots of people your age are flakey.

If you want to take the next step, the ball’s in your court. Ask her for a phone number, and then if she gives it to you, call her and ask her out with a specific time and date. The age gap is only as broad as your experiential differences. My advice is to go for it. 😉
