ParticipantHello everyone! I’m from Greece.
I’d like to talk about a relationship I had, with the man I love, but unfortunately it ended .. I’m 21 and he’s 24 ..
We met each other in university, we’re in the same field .. He was impressed and showed too much interest, and we were very well together … We spent all the time together, and finally lived together very soon …
We did many things together .. He showed me that he loved me .. We spent the whole day together .. The truth is that I was a bit jealous with him more than normal …But he accepted that … Our relationship lasted 2 years … When we left the city where we were studying then came the distance (geographical distance) …
Then, he went to work for a month in Germany (things were worse then between us). I was jealous and we were fighting all the time and this became worse with the distance .. He said that he began to think the geographical distance and he couldn’t bare the way I was treating him any more …I tried to change his mind with no results… After than he had to go to the army in Cyprus …
I stopped communicating with him, and when I did that, he started to communicate with me .. He said he loves me , he sais that he’s afraid … he said that I was the biggest part of his life and he ‘s a coward … I did nothing and he went on to say that he thinks that we could still be together ..
I began to hope again and one day I asked him if he wants to be together again .. And he said that we can’t be together.. I’m about to go crazy .. I love him .. This is hurting me so much..
What should I do; I do not want to lose him for ever ..

KeymasterIt takes two people to make a relationship work, but only one to end it. Sadly, he’s no longer interested and it wasn’t a fast no — it was a slow and bumpy one, so it’s hard to accept. 😳 When people meet and have relationships in certain microcosms, like university settings, there can be a romantic bubble that you thrive in because your world is insulated by the campus. But when you leave that bubble, all kinds of things can happen. The two of you separated for work — he went to another country — and then he went into the army. You’re in two different worlds right now, and he’s not interested enough to make the relationship work.
My advice is, that even though it’s very hard for you to accept that the romance has ended, face the facts. He’s no longer going to be there for you in the way you both want, and it’s time for you to celebrate the fact that you’re out of school and you can start a new chapter in your own life.
🙂 You WILL meet other men and this will be part of your past…. one day.I hope this helps. Please follow me @AskAprilcom on Twitter and on Facebook at this link:

ParticipantI was thinking to tell him to go slow.. Maybe we could wait until he finishes his army obligations (3-5 months), and then we could mae a conversation without pressing him… Do you think its a good idea? February 14, 2012 at 6:34 pm #22378April Masini
KeymasterI know that you want there to be a relationship between the two of you, but there isn’t. 😳 You’re using “we” in your sentences, but the truth is, there is no “we”. He doesn’t want to go slow — he ended the relationship. If YOU want to wait for him to call you, then that’s your business, but I certainly don’t advise it. I don’t think it’s a good idea for you to wait for someone who is 24 years old, just ended a two year college relationship, and is now out in the world and has broken up with you. I believe he’s going to move on, and he’s having a little trouble moving on and doesn’t want to hurt you, but that ultimately, he will. It’s in your best interests to move on in your own life without him. If he wants you at some point, he knows how to find you — but until then, it’s not a good idea to base your life on waiting for someone who doesn’t seem to want you.🙁 Sorry. -
