So I dated my ex-boyfriend for almost a year in high school. I broke up with him. (Long story). We didn’t talk for about almost 2 years after high school. Then we hooked up 3 years ago. Nothing happened we just had a couple of one-night-stands. Now I’ve been hooking up with him again. My feelings are coming back for him strong this time. Last time we hooked up I had feelings for him too. He doesn’t see us getting back together though. I just got out of a half a year long relationship. I need time on my own. Deep down though I’m still hoping that we might start dating again when I am ready. What do you think I should do???

If you keep hooking up with him, he’s never going to “date” you. He’s going to know he can have sex with you without any commitment — and that’s not what you want. 😳 Remember: men have sex because they can. 😉

Men want to chase women and win them over. So if you make it really easy for him to have you, he’s not going to feel that good about being with you. My advice is give chase, and let him pursue you. You can learn a lot about this by reading Think & Date Like A Man, http://www.askapril.com/relationship-dating-advice/think-and-date-like-a-man.html, a book I wrote for women who want to find, get and keep Mr. Right. I think you’ll get A LOT out of this book and I hope you’ll read it for that reason. 🙂

I’m in a situation where I’m still in love with my ex-boyfriend too. Should I start a new topic/thread?

Yes, please do start a new topic thread. I like to have a new thread for each person’s original question because sometimes people come back after a week, a month or more, and want to update their question on the original thread. It makes all of us better able to respond when your history is in one place. 😀
