Just met this girl

I met this girl at court the other day. We talked off and on for about an hour. I asked her for number and told her we should hang out. She goes to school in Manhattan and I live on Long Island. Is it appropiate for me to tell her I want to visit her at school, or should we talk on the phone or throught text before I ask?
