I’m really falling for my best friend, and I’m ashamed to say that I am friend zoned. I told her that I like her about a month ago, and she gave me the cliche “I don’t want to risk losing our friendship” speech. The problem is I still have feelings for her and I still like her a lot. I haven’t brought it up to her or hinted that I like her at all since she friend zoned me and we just went right back to normal being friends, but I still think about her like all the time and I don’t know what to do anymore, I mean I could go on like this and never bring it up again, which is what would probably be best, but, oh hell, I don’t know anymore. I almost never ask for dating advice on forums, and this isn’t even that big of a deal because I still have an amazing friend who is always there for me, and I respect her decision. But I guess I could use some comfort or advice or something, anyway, please reply and share your thoughts.

If you really like her, then you shouldn’t settle for being relegated to the friends zone. You’re going to be miserable watching her date, flirt with other guys, and eventually hook up and become a couple with a guy who isn’t you. 😳 You’re also going to make yourself miserable staying in the friend zone when what you want is a girlfriend.

So, my advice is to live bold. If you’ve asked her out on a date and she’s said no, then move on and find a woman who wants to be with you because that’s what you deserve. If you do find that Ms Right, then you can see if this woman is interested in being your friend at THAT point. If she is truly a friend, then she’ll understand and be there for you down the line, but if she isn’t, then you’ve done yourself a favor by figuring things out more quickly and not wasting your time (or anyone else’s!).

    I hope that helps.

Let me know how things go.
