You don’t have two guys. You only have one, but you’re trying to turn your ex, who’s dating someone else, into a viable option. He isn’t.

Your ex has moved on and as long as you continue contact with him, you’re never going to be emotionally free to find true love and a healthy relationship with someone else. You can’t take out a love insurance policy, so don’t even try to play the odds and only give up your ex if you have a new boyfriend waiting in the wings — it won’t work that way. This new guy may or may not be Mr. Right, but unless you try dating him without your ex-boyfriend as a back up, you’ll never know.

There’s no good to come of you from pretending your ex-boyfriend is a available to you. You have to let go and play the dating game like everyone else. Sorry!
