What you’re describing isn’t normal. If he is truly an addict of any kind, he needs professional help. My advice is that you have him see a doctor and that you ask him if you can meet with the doctor with him, too. Disrupting your sleep on a regular basis is going to lead to a cranky wife at best!

Make sure his annual physical is up to date so there’s no biological or chemical problem behind his behavior, and then get some professional help to rule out (or deal with) addiction.
