Alright, I have been dating a guy for about 3 months. He is definitely not the normal type of guy I would see myself going out with plus he is about 5 years older than me. We don’t see each other very much (about once a week) because of work and school and other schedules and such. I still havent met his family because he has concerns with his family and it is hard for me because I am such a family person. There have been times where I have wanted out of the relationship because of reasons of not seeing each other or the family issue. He mentioned to me about vacations or such in the summer and he said if things were right maybe you can come and so on. We somewhat got into an argument on that because of how it was brought up and he clarified saying meaning if things are going well and such but I dont know what the future holds for us. This has been the best relationship that I have been based off of how he is treating me and not forcing sex and such. He was telling me about his family and I feel awful now because he now has told me that he loves spending time with my family because he wishes he had a family like that. He has had a hard family life and he tells me I am the best thing that has ever happened in his life. I feel really bad because if I do want out of the relationship I dont want things to go bad for him or make him feel miserable. I do also know that if I get out of the relationship I will be upset because I dont know of too many guys that would treat me this well. What should I do?

Okay…. I get it. At age 19 you don’t have a lot of dating experience, so let me help you with some shortcuts! 😉 You’ve only been dating him for three months. It is WAY TOO SOON for you to be meeting his family. And if he wants you to meet his family he’ll invite you to meet them. You shouldn’t pressure him — instead, you should decide if this is someone you’re compatible enough with to continue dating. You’re rushing the process instead of getting to know who he is, and when you see something you don’t like, you’re trying to change him 😳 instead of sitting back and thinking about whether the two of you will have a future together with these differences.

So in answer to your question, What should I do?, I think you should relax, take a breath, and not force things. This is a guy you’ve been dating for three months — not a long term boyfriend. Cool it, and let him chase you, and not the other way around.

I hope that helps. Let me know how things go, and please follow me @AskAprilcom on Twitter and on Facebook at this link: .

I understand — and dating can be confusing, especially with little experience. You might want to take a look at a book I wrote for women who want to date with success. It’s called Think & Date Like A Man, https://www.askapril.com/relationship-dating-advice/think-and-date-like-a-man.html, and you can buy it as an automatic download on the link I just gave you, and start reading immediately. It’s going to help you a lot with basic concepts and more sophisticated nuances.

Among other things, it will teach you the differences between men and women when it comes to dating — what men want and how to get what YOU want.

I hope you buy and read it. Let me know how things go with this guy and please follow me @AskAprilcom on Twitter and on Facebook at this link: .
