I’m a uni student, back home for the summer and this is the first time me n my bf did long distance. We’ve been together for 6months and are inseparable. We’ve been away for more than a month now..we make effort to videocall and text everyday. And we do argue if he doesnt call when he should but we usually shrug it off.

Recently, he’s been soo stressed with his family and financial situation that its affecting him. considering his family history, He might have bi-polar disorder as he once was diagnosed with depression. We were perfectly normal with our ‘i love yous’ and a few hours later he called and dumped me. His reason was he cant take it anymore. He knows that he will end up hurting me ( he said that many times!). it was as if he was possessed. as if there was a trigger button. he was talking nonsense the whole time. He was ranting on how he was never the perfect boyfriend and i deserve better and how my life will not be good with him. He even said bad stuffs about my culture. He admits that he doesn’t know what to feel and think at the moment. it weird how he just contradicts himself. as if there wasnt a solid reason for the break up.

the question is: what is happening to him? should i take his words seriously? i still love him with all my heart but how am i going to support him ( with the added distance)?

If he’s broken up with you and isn’t acting normal, and has insulted your culture…. it’s time to move on. That’s three strikes! Since you’ve only been dating for six months, you’re now getting to know how he responds with the stress of distance and the answer is not a good one.

    Time to move on.

I hope that helps, and that you’ll follow me @AskAprilcom on Twitter and on Facebook at this link: .
