Dear April,
I am a 36 yr old single mother. My son is 17 yrs old.
I have been single for quite some time now. It hasn’t bothered me too much until recently.
My son is at the age where he spends a lot of time with his friends. My friends are mostly married with children.
It is finally making me realize how alone I am. I feel as if I will never meet “the one” for me. I have tried everything: online dating sites, clubs,bars, and the gym, and I cannot seem to meet anyone whom I
feel connected. I even have gone out alone so I am not sitting home alone.
I am writing to you for any advice you can give me. I’m not sure what else I can do to try to meet people. Going out alone to bars is lonely, and can be dangerous. I feel like I will be alone forever.
