I’ve been dating my current boyfriend for eight months. (Yesterday was our eight month anniversary.)
We got into a huge fight that made me almost just want to end things.
Our past still haunts me and I don’t know if I can ever get over it.
When we first started dating I found out he had been cheating on me, and so I broke it off with him.
Many months later, he contacts me and apologizes. We start being friends again and eventually fall for one another again. My main issue is that I don’t know if I can ever trust him again after what happened in the past. It hurts and tears me up inside because I really love him, but can’t forgive him for hurting me. Last night I asked if he missed the other girl as a friend and he said something along the lines of she wasn’t a bad friend and I’d rather be able to get along with her than constantly have drama. Which really set me off, and I almost ended things right there. What should I do? Should I just go ahead and end the eight months we’ve tried to make work? Ijust don’t know what I should do.

I’m not sure how old either one of you are, but if you’re very clear that you can’t get over the past, then there is no way to move forward. 😳

But…. I’d like to know a little more. For instance, in addition to how old you both are, what was the fight about this week that made you want to break up?

And how long were you dating when he cheated on you?

Is this something you fight about often? How often?
