This guy I’ve had a crush on for forever gave me his number two weeks ago and I was psyched! I’ve been trying to play it really cool, be mysterious, but myself at the same time. I’m also really trying to not appear desperate because he is honestly the most attractive guy I’ve ever met and so well-liked among all of his friends. Keep in mind that this guy hasn’t been in a serious relationship for two or three years now. We have hung out twice in the past two weeks, both Saturday nights. It was all very laid-back, we met at a party then went out to the bars with our friends & just last night we stayed in and watched a movie. I ended up staying over both nights but nothing more happened other than kissing, although he attempted to do otherwise but he was very respectful when I told him no. He seems into me when we’re hanging out (we haven’t went on an official date yet) and is very sweet. I know we definitely mutually feel a connection physically and emotionally and we both enjoy each other’s company. But, during the week, it’s almost as if I don’t exist! He won’t call or text for days in a row and when he does, he apologizes and says that he’s very busy with school and work (he’s a senior in college and I’m attending beauty school). I’ll admit, I have given in twice and texted him first to say something clever or to tell him good luck on a test, and he always responds within an hour or two politely explaining why he hasn’t gotten in touch with me. I’ve made the common mistake of making excuses for guys but since I don’t know him very well, I’m skeptical about whether he’s being honest or not. So, I’m constantly wondering, “what does he really want from me?” It has only been two weeks, but, I’m afraid of getting my hopes up for a disaster. Please help me get my dream guy April!

Clearly, he has a clue — he gave you his phone number, and spent two overnights with you. 🙂 But he’s not looking for a girlfriend in the same way that you’re looking for a boyfriend. He’s a senior in college who’s interested in hanging out — but not dating. You may be hoping he’s someone he’s not — because he’s so cute! But you have to really look at who he is. Don’t text him. Don’t call him. Let him be the one to chase you — and if he does, then you’ll know he’s interested, but if he doesn’t, accept that he’s not really interested in the same thing you are.

    I hope that helps!
