Definitely invite her. A personal face to face invitation is best because she can “read” your face and body language, and you can do the same. You lose some of that communication when you use the phone or internet. Find out what her schedule is and try and track her down at lunch or after or before school and just approach her with your best smile — if she’s alone, that’s the best. It’s always a little awkward to have to talk to her for the first time if she’s in a crowd or with friends. Then tell her you’ve noticed her around and you were hoping to maybe get to know her a little better. Tell her you’re having a party at your house and you’d love if she’d come. Give her space in between your declarations so that she can react. I know you’ll be nervous, but watch and wait for her reaction. She may surprise you! Then ask her if you can e-mail her the specifics (your address, date, time, etc.). And when you leave, give her your best smile.
I hope that helps. Let me know how it goes!
