My Ex keeps texting me now…confused?

So I recently Just broke up with my boyfriend of four months (going on five) then its like my ex knew that I had broken up with him because now he has been texting me. I broke up with him years ago and he always made attempts to get me back but I would shut him down..he didn’t do anything to cause a break up I simply broke up with him and I broke his heart. We have been friends for the past two years but the thing is he has a fiance now and he moved in with her and her parents. He sends me little text like “hi” or “wassup” or that “he is bored and going crazy” “save me” Im confused if he is so bored why doesn’t he just hang out with his fiance. He called me yesterday and we talked for a little while then he had to go but now he has been texting me more than ever and Im trying to figure out why? Is he trying to make me jealous or is it something more!
