Over the weekend my friend told me he is undecided about marrying his girlfriend who he has been dating for close to a year and a half. He told me he has until the end of the year to decide. I was quite shocked as it seemed like things were going well and he really likes her family.
My friend is 33 years old and has been in several relationships in the past. The last girl he dated the relationship lasted about 5 months. He broke up with her because she made more money and according to him she was to confident. She also gave him an ultimatum on where the relationship was headed. My friend is quite religious and will only date Christian woman who attend church on a regular basis. It seems he wants to get married and have children. He has had sex only once and it seems he is waiting till marriage to do it again. With every girl he meets he seems to rush the relationship but then backs off when things get serious and eventually breaks up with them. Then he complains about being lonely and wishing he was in a relationship.
What do you think his problem is in wanting to get married but then breaking off every relationship that gets to that point? And why does it take the woman to give him an ultimatum instead of him breaking up and moving on? He is not having sex with them so I don’t get why he prolongs it when he knows he has no attention of marrying them.
