Hi April,
I went on my first date with a guy who I thought I was really compatible and had a great connection with but ever since our date, he’s been acting distant and not like his normal self. When I ran into him a couple days after the date, he told me to text him if I was around this weekend. So I texted him later on that night (Friday) and he took a long time to respond, a few hours to be exact. When he did respond, he said he was going to the city and spending the night and didn’t ask to see me any other time that week, nor did he apologize. I am used to him not texting me first or taking initiative because he has never been forward because he gets a little shy around me so I try and help him out. But in he process of ‘helping him out,’ I am afraid I have made it seem like he is the prize instead of me! I am not sure why else he seems to be backing off. The date was fantastic, we had a great time. At the end you can tell he was nervous about going in for the kiss and he didn’t, he kissed me on the cheek, but very close to the lips, so the date couldn’t have been that bad? And then he tells me to text him when he sees me but says he’s busy? I’m so confused. I don’t know how to act when I see him again in a class we take together. I am definitely not going to text him. And I’m not going to ask him about it either. I am going to give him his space but it’s inevitable that I run into him.. so when I do.. how should I act? Like my normal sense? Do you know why he may be backing off? Perhaps he lost interest? Commitment phobe? Was I pursuing him too much?
Thanks
