You can only work on your own trust issues. Hers are her problem to work on. If you can figure out why you became distrustful to start with, and what you can and have (or haven’t 😳 ) done to feel more trustful or choose people who are more trustworthy, you can usually understand your past versus your present.
If you choose to repeat dysfunctional patterns of behavior in your life, then you’re going to continue to have the same bad feelings over and over. But if you figure out where and how to change your behavior, you can break cycles of behavior and have a more peaceful life.
