Rex ManuelMember #382,943Hi, I’m Rex, and I’m 28 years old.
I’ve been in a relationship with my girlfriend for five years. For the longest time, I believed our relationship was nearly perfect. We weren’t the type of couple who constantly argued, dealt with trust issues, or accused each other of things. We had a strong foundation of trust and our relationship always felt easy and peaceful.
After work, we would usually spend time together. We rarely had reasons to fight and I genuinely believed we were both happy.
One evening, after she got off work, she realized that she had accidentally left her phone at the office. Since I was available, I offered to pick it up for her.
When I finally had her phone, it suddenly started ringing. The caller ID said “Unknown.” I found it a little strange because it was already late at night but I answered anyway because I thought it might be related to an order she was expecting. I didn’t want it to get canceled if nobody answered.
The moment I picked up the call, a man’s voice greeted me with a word that instantly made my heart sink.
“Love.”
Then he asked, “Love, are you home already?”
At that moment, my entire body went cold. I couldn’t process what I had just heard. There was no reason for another man to be calling my girlfriend that way.
As soon as I saw her, I confronted her about it and decided to leave the relationship.
Since then, she has been begging me not to end things. She keeps telling me that if I leave her for good, she will take her own life.
Now I’m stuck between the betrayal I experienced and the fear of what she might do if I walk away. I don’t know whether she’s serious or if she’s saying it to stop me from leaving but the situation has left me feeling emotionally trapped.
Do you think my girlfriend was cheating on me from the beginning? - MemberPosts
