My name’s Suzy and I’m nineteen. I’m going to my dad’s on Saturday and invited my boyfriend. He completely flat out said no. We’ve been living together for almost three months and have been good so far. I felt bad because he left for work saying, “I still feel like an asshole…” I was wanted someone extra to come with me, because my brother couldn’t come and my dad is more or less my friend than my father. When I was young, he’s was there every other weekend, but my boyfriend knows I’ve been going through a part of my life where I decided I had to cut out my mom. My mom and I were best friends when I was young, and it’s really hard but I know it’s what I have to do. I go over to his family’s every Sunday and he’s not too keen of his family but I love them. I just want him to understand what I’m going through and be there like he always is. He’s my boyfriend, but he’s also one of my most close friends. I want to talk it out but have no idea where to start since I’ve only had one relationship before him.
Ask him why he won’t come with you and listen to his answer. If you want to know something like this, the only way you can find out is to ask. It seems odd that he wouldn’t go with you, so there must be a good reason.
