There is this girl who is 4 hrs away from me. There is a mutual attraction and this girl has asked me out because she knows I’m kinda shy. I love that she took the initiative to do that but I feel like I need to officially ask her out myself. Hard to do when she’s 4 hrs away. I was thinking about maybe sending a note with chocolates or a note with a couple flowers to her work place?! Not sure if that would come off as creepy and desperate or not. I don’t mean it that way, I’m just an old fashioned kind of guy. She asked me out but I don’t have her number yet. She is eerie of giving her number out to anyone. Your thoughts?? I don’t think your ideas are creepy at all — but that’s me. Everyone is different. Why not accept her invitation and bring her flowers on the date. If it goes well, then ask her for her number at that point because if she’s willing to ask you out and take you on a date, she should be willing to give you her phone number! And when she gives you her number, you get the ball rolling by taking the lead at that point. Hope that helps! 🙂

I would like to say one thing here that I always like April’s advice because she looks at every situation in a very balanced and practical way. Creating a safe space for April and guiding someone so respectfully is truly admirable.
I agree with Ask April that you should go on the date she invited you to. It’s the perfect time to express that you wanted to take the lead yourself.
