I don’t understand why my ex-boyfriend Brent suddenly broke up with me. We were together for almost four years, but two weeks ago he suddenly became cold toward me and seemed to lose interest. I don’t know what I did wrong. We rarely fought, and I never stopped him from doing the things that made him happy or whatever he wanted to do. Last month, I already started noticing that he was becoming distant because he no longer picked me up from my office, and he rarely updated me about what he was doing. I was really shocked when he told me that he wanted some space and hoped that I would let him think things through first. He said he wanted to focus on his goals in life.

Why do you think that happened?

Maybe you need closure so everything can become clear to you.

Just keep yourself busy so you can move on. Don’t let yourself be alone and just dwell on it, because it will make it harder for you to heal. Go out with friends, focus on yourself, and improve yourself—you’ll even become more confident and attractive. Think that you don’t need to regret him, because he’s not worth it anyway since he cheated.

Honestly, that’s the hardest part—when you start thinking about where you went wrong, if you made a mistake, or if something about you wasn’t enough for them to suddenly lose interest.

It’s even harder when there were no signs of conflict or arguments, and then suddenly they just become distant and lose interest.

But change is the only constant in this world, and acceptance is the key for you to move forward.
