There’s a girl that I like. I met her at a resort that my family and I visited. I was the one who approached her first, introduced myself and asked for her number and social media account. The next day, I started texting her. I texted her almost every day and invited her to eat out or watch a movie so we could get to know each other better but she always turned me down and always had a reason. Last week, I texted her and asked if I could visit her but she didn’t reply. In my following messages, I could already feel the coldness in the way she texted me. As far as I know, she doesn’t have a boyfriend because I asked her that on the very first day we started talking.
Why is she replying slowly and giving short responses? Is that her way of showing me that she’s not interested in me?

Maybe she’s just shy since you’ve only recently met and she doesn’t want to come across as clingy. Give her more time so you can both get to know each other better and eventually she will feel more at ease with you and become comfortable enough to even text you first.

For now, don’t rush her. Just continue showing initiative by texting her and checking on her daily, even if her replies are short. If you really like her, you won’t give up easily.
