I’ve been with a wonderful woman for several years. I recently found out that only a few days after we met she had a one night stand with a man 25 years younger than her (she was 46, he was 21). Should I feel like this was wrong? It wasn’t really a betrayal – we had only had one date at the time, but I can’t help feeling bad about this.

Should I let this affect our relationship?

That age gap isn’t an issue in my opinion, you shouldn’t let that bother you or let it affect your relationship. However there could be a slight cause for concern that she hooked up with someone when you were dating each other.

I’m more focused on the age difference and not the betrayal aspect because it was only one date and a couple days later. Should I expect loyalty after one date? If not loyalty, then at least abstaining for a few weeks to see how things work out?

Forget it. There is nothing wrong with the age difference — they’re both legal adults and older women date younger men the same way older men have dated younger women for ages. As far as loyalty after one date 😯 it’s not warranted. It’s entirely fair to play the field until there’s some kind of commitment between two people, which she could hardly expect from you (or you from her) after only one date.

If you like her, continue to see her, and if you want a commitment from her, let her know! 😉

I hope that helps — and that you’ll join me on Facebook. Here’s the link: .
