Am I being too nice and heading for the “Friendzone”?

I’m Jerry, 28 and I’ve been seeing this girl I really like for a couple of months. I tried to be thoughtful, text her, remember little stuff she says, help her out when I can but lately I’ve been wondering if I’m doing it too much and just end up in the “Friendzone.”

Elaine seems to like hanging out, laughs at my jokes, we hang out a lot but I don’t always get clear signs she’s into me like that. I don’t want to come on too strong but I also don’t wanna get stuck being “just a friend” if I like her more than that.

How do you even balance being nice and attentive without accidentally putting yourself in the friendzone?

When you like someone—especially if you’re a man—you really need to invest and take a risk.

What I mean is, it’s normal to be kind and attentive when you like someone. But whether you end up in the “friendzone” or not is no longer something you control. It’s not even something we can advise you out of—it’s actually the girl herself who decides that.
