this is what happened…
so me and this guy had a very serious relationship for 10 months and then we went to college and about a month into school he broke up with me…now the weekend before, we broke up on a friday, everything was absolutely fine and we were happier than ever…and then from Monday night on this just did not seem ok…and then on Friday he was like “i reassessed my life and I don’t want a relationship anymore.” he said that his feelings for me had changed and that he did not love me anymore…when he had said on MONDAY morning that he loved me so much and that he could not fall asleep because he missed me too much…and that he could not wait two weeks to see me…he was always over the top in love with me and always made sure to show it. Another thing is that exactly a month before we broke up he had gotten me a promise ring that he was planning to give me in 3 months for our 1 yr…so this happened about a month and 1/2 ago, the break up…he is now acting like he never cared about me or appears to be acting that way although he claims that he didn’t lie me about his feelings when he said he loved me so much…he had told me exactly two weeks before the break up that I was the love his life and that he would love me no matter what…until the day he dies…he went from being so convinced about one thing to so convinced about the complete opposite…and he does not know what even caused him to reassess his life and he has said that “i, myself would like to know what caused me to make this big change in my life”…i am still so in love with him…and I just cannot believe the very very strong feelings he once had for me disappeared in less than 4 days…help

the text message that he had sent me exactly two weeks before we broke up said:
“Hey baby, by now you should be longgggg asleep getting your beauty rest :)…fishy, also by the way you are the love of my life, the breath in my lungs, the grass beneath my feet, you are all I need. I love you so so much, now always and forever, until the day I die and then some. I promise to love you no matter what, unconditional love.
Goodnight angel 😀 “

I’m sorry, but your ex-boyfriend broke up with you so he could date other people at college. I know this is devastating and you’re clinging to every wonderful and romantic thing he said to you while you were dating and even just before he broke up with you, so you can try and believe that it’s all a big mistake, but sadly, it’s not.

I think that you need to accept the break up and move on. I know that’s easier said than done. This is a really important time for you to focus all your energy on you and doing things that are good for you. Exercise, eat well, surround yourself with family and friends who are supportive of you getting through this healing period, and get back out there. Try new things, smile at men you pass on the street, and remember that Mr. Right is out there waiting for you to smile at him! 😀

I hope this helps. Let me know how it goes. And follow me @AskAprilcom on Twitter, as well as on Facebook at this link: .

When people break up they do what they need to do to get what they need to get — and he wanted to get out of the relationship without hurting you, so he told you what he needed to in order to extricate himself from the relationship. Whether or not he told you he isn’t dating anyone else or does or doesn’t want a relationship is less important than his actions. He’s in college and he wants to test the waters there. I know this hurts, but he’s moving on, and you should, too.
