It’s very difficult to be rejected and it hurts. There’s no shortcut through that pain. My advice is that you surround yourself with friends and family who are supportive of you, and to understand that it’s always best to choose someone with whom you’re very compatible, from the start. Know your deal breakers, and know his, too — so you don’t get too invested in a relationship that can’t go the distance because of these issues. And in the meantime, stay busy. Volunteer, start a new hobby, schedule your calendar with fun, nurturing events, and know that you will meet someone, once you’re feeling single again, who will be a good match for you.
