There’s this guy in my English class and I think he likes me. We’re good friends (not best friends though) and we’ve never hung out outside of school. I think he may like me but I feel like he is giving me mixed signals. Here are some examples of things he does:

Why I think He likes me:
-Stares at me (sometimes) but quickly turns when I look back at him
-Laughs/Smiles a lot when we talk (he’s even turned red before)
-Gives short answers when I ask him questions
-Talks softly (I can hardly hear him sometimes) to me
-Does me favors (I don’t ask him a lot but when I do he comes through for me)
-Shakes his legs (out of nervousness?) a lot around me
-Seems genuinely interested in what I have to say (good listener)
-When I ask him if he likes other girls he says things like “No way!” and generally stays away from those types of conversations

Why I’m not sure:
-I always initiate conversation (but he does sometimes)
-He talks to other people a lot more than me (he seems more open with them)
-When I touch him, sometimes he snatches away, sometimes he lets me and just laughs
-He looks like he’s purposely trying to ignore me sometimes
-When I ask him something he always says something like “It’s whatever/It doesn’t matter” or “sure/I don’t care”
-He almost never asks me questions
-One time I told him I was going to hug him (I didn’t though) he said “You can if you want to” and just laughed at me
-I told him we should hang out, he said “Yeah, we should”
-Our conversations mostly consist of inside jokes, me asking him questions, and him teasing me (in a jokingly way)

**I just gave him my number and he hasn’t text or called yet (not expecting him to though)
I don’t know if he has a girlfriend and I’m not sure how much I like him yet

It sounds like he’s probably nervous around you. He may not call or txt only because he’s afraid to. I know it sounds kind of weird, but some guys have a difficult time breaking out of their comfort zone even if they really like someone.

You may have to ask for his number or ask him out on a date to get things rolling.
