My husband and I have been together for 12 years, and we have three children who are all grown up now. I’m 42 years old, and my husband is 45. Because we’ve been together for so long, I feel like there are no more sparks or excitement between us. Our focus now is just working and providing for our children’s needs. It has become normal for us to just come home, eat, sleep, and then wake up the next morning to go back to work again. There’s no more thrill or sweetness between us. You know that feeling? It’s like there’s no more love between the two of us. We just come home because it has become a routine and because we have responsibilities. Is that really how it is?

Is it normal to feel less “in love” over time?
