It sounds like the prom date is leading you to believe that there’s something more to your relationship than there may actually be. The kiss at the party could have been impulsive — as was the prom invitation. In other words, he might have kissed you because the opportunity was there, even if the feelings weren’t, and he might have jumped the gun with the prom invitation, too. Now, he’s rethinking things, or else he’s not feeling the same things for you that you are for him. When a guy appears to be not that into you, you can do a couple of things. First, you can move on and find someone who is, or you can flirt with him and try to reel him in by being the girlfriend he wants to have! Sometimes you do the second thing and it still doesn’t work, and in that case, it’s a good idea to cut your losses and move on. Not everyone is going to be your cup of tea – and you’re not going to be everyone else’s cup of tea, and sometimes that’s the best you get.
