Hello all,

I’m a 20 year old guy who’s been seeing this particular girl for about a year. We went through a 3 month period of not being together after dating for over 6 months. The reasons for our break up were that I was too ‘intense’. This was mainly due to my previous relationship lasting over 2.5 years and being a LDR it required a lot of effort and that attitude was engrained into my system and I put that on my new girlfriend too soon.

So we spent time apart but worked on things, did not see other people, and now have gotten back together, and I have never been happier.

I just want to make sure I am able to take things slow enough to not make her too feel like I am being too intense, but also to keep her interested, which I am just inherently nervous about due to ex-gf’s in the past cheating.

Up to this point I feel as though I have been too available, and I know that was a mistake, I just could use some advice on finding the line between being too available and being too distant.

    Thank you all!

You’ll get EVERYTHING you need from the book I wrote for men called Date Out of Your League. You can buy it here: https://www.askapril.com/relationship-dating-advice/date-out-of-your-league.html.

You’re absolutely right that you don’t want to impose too much relationship pressure on her too soon, and you need to figure out how to pace the relationship. Please get the book and read it (it’s only $14.95) and it downloads automatically so you can read it all this weekend (it’s an easy read!).

Let me know if it helps.

And please follow me @AskAprilcom on Twitter and on Facebook at this link: . 😀
