I have a steady girlfriend for 4 years now and I am thinking of proposing now. I am pretty confident that she feels the same way and that the answer will be a ‘Yes’. But still I am a bit nervous over the whole thing. I have asked her for a date this Sunday and I have ordered for her favorite fresh flower bouquet online[/url] and have reserved a place in her favorite restaurant. Should I just propose to her there, or should I drop some hints so that she will catch up and then propose another day. I don’t want this to come as a surprise for her, in case that makes her all nervous and she rejects me. Can you please advice me on how I should go forward with this?

It sounds like you’re trying to hedge against rejection by dropping hints that you’re going to propose, in the hope that she’ll give you a hint back that she’ll say yes. My advice is to just go for it, two feet in! You’ve been dating for four years now, so I’d be surprised if she didn’t say yes. And if she doesn’t, it’s very appropriate to feel rejected and badly. In fact, it’s much better to get a clear yes or no, then to keep wondering and living in limbo. My advice is to propose on Sunday at the restaurant. Bring a ring, and make it romantic. 😉

Let me know what she says! And if you have any other questions before then, let me know — I’m here!
