so I been seeing the guy for like 5 months now I have a 1 year old daughter my friend thinks I need to ask him if he would ever want to be a step dad or take care of my daughter.. but I think its too soon because we havent even reached the point of establishing a relationship. My friend thinks ill be wasteing my time if I wait and ask later and he says NOPE he wouldnt want any part in dealing with a child and me. He plays with my daughter sometimes but I dont bring her around much but because him and I were friends 1st he has kinda known and seen her since birth so its not like he is a stranger but yet she isn”t close with him be any means..anyway when do you think is the best time to have that talk ?? or do you think he wouldnt even waste his time dating me if he wasnt willing to take that on??

    thanks

Your friend is right. You don’t want to waste time dating someone who would never want to be your daughter’s stepdad! Find out if he’s interested in having children, and let him know if you are or up for more kids or not. If you’re a single parent and are dating, it’s crucial you learn right away if the guy you’re dating is in it for the long haul or not. 😀

I hope that helps. Please follow me @AskAprilcom on Twitter.

It’s very important to date smart, and that means knowing what you want, and knowing what he wants so you can figure out if you’re compatible and proceed accordingly!

See you @AskAprilcom on Twitter. 😀
