So here’s the thing, my college classmates and I recently had a reunion, and when I saw Colenn again (my crush back in college), it felt like all my feelings for her came back. I never courted her during our college days because I was shy and afraid of getting rejected. I found out now that she doesn’t have a boyfriend, so I started thinking that maybe this is finally the right time to pursue her. We’re both 28 years old now. I got her number so I could text her, and I’m hoping that maybe she’ll slowly start to like me too, even if most of our conversations will only be through text because she now lives far away.
What advice can you give me?

First, you need to be someone who’s enjoyable to talk to—not boring. It’s better if your conversations are interesting and something she can really engage with. Then, once you’ve built a bit of comfort and rapport between you, you can slowly invite her to eat or grab coffee. Take it step by step, no rush. After that, you can eventually ask her out on a proper date.

Maybe it’s better if you tell her your intentions and feelings right away so that if she doesn’t feel the same, you won’t end up wasting your time. Since you’re also far from each other, it’s better to be clear from the start.

Of course, start by introducing yourself and asking how she’s doing. Ask her if she enjoyed your reunion.

It can be a bit difficult if she’s far away, but there’s nothing wrong with trying. It might also be good if you tell her how you feel and why you decided to get her number. That way, everything is clear for her too, and you can quickly figure out whether she’s worth pursuing or if you should just stop.
