I am 50 years old and recently divorced. I am kind, intelligent, funny, fun, polite and well groomed. I am athletic, tall and good looking. I am very similar in appearence to Dr Drew Pinsky.

I would like to date pretty women who are in their thirties. Mainly I have been using online dating sites.

They all tell me I am too old for them.

My question is: why is my age so important to pretty thirtysomething women?

Please do not ask me “why don’t you want women your own age?” That is an excellent question but off topic. Also, incidentally, these rejections are coming from women who have no idea if I am not also dating women my own age.

Please don’t tell me that I am an evil man for not dating exclusively my own age. I don’t think I am evil, to say I am when you know nothing about me is obnoxious bullying and it is not answering my question.

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to date women in their 30s when you’re in your 50s. Lots of men do it everyday. My advice is to expand your dating pool, and if you’re not having luck with the online dating site you’re currently using, try another one — as well as your real life resources.

Age is important to some people (men and women), and less so to others. In fact, there are definitely women in their 30s who would like to date older men because of the assets older men bring to the table (sophistication, experience, grown children instead of little ones, career stability, etc.). You need to find those women!

Dating is a numbers game, and the more opportunities you get to be up at bat, so to speak, the more opportunities you will get to hit a home run.
