hi, So my bf and I have been going out for about 3years. We decided to take the next step and move in together. We have been looking for a place for about a month and a half now and found one we really like. But now he has learned about problems with his family; really bad money problems. We live in canada and his family is a province away, but he says thats too far and he needs to move back with them. He also told me that he would probably move back next year.
My question is should I move in with him? If he does move back I will have to pay for the whole apartment myself, but then again, if this money issue clears up he wont have to move. And by him saying we pretty much only have a year together left, does this doom the relationship?
I thought about maybe moving there with him but I cant change my job right now and I am in school for the next 3 years.

Stay put. Stay in school. Keep your job. You need to take care of yourself, because he’s not! He has an obligation to pay for his share of the rent in your apartment since I assume you both signed the lease together. That he’s ditching you is pretty rotten. When he leaves, get a female roommate to split the rent with you so you’re not completely stuck.
