I’ve dated this guy off and on for nearly two years. Recently, we broke up and he had been dating another woman. After a month of dating, they broke up and he came running back to me. I informed him that we will be friends because I will not be a last resort. I, however, just found out from his cousin that they had had sex and he told her that he loved her. When I confronted him about it, he claimed that he only did it because I hurt him so bad and it drove him to do it. I love him a lot because we have been through so much together and he’s the only one I can truly be honest with. My friends tell me I should give him another chance since we weren’t together when it happened. However, I feel I’m making mistake by doing so. Every time I look at him, I just feel completely disgusted and sick to my stomach, to the point where I don’t want him to touch me or be near me. I just need to know if I’m doing the right thing by giving him another chance.

Okay, so you broke up and now you told him you can be “just friends” with him…..

I never think it’s a good idea for anyone to be friends with an ex unless they’ve really, truly moved on. You clearly haven’t, and I think it’s a bad idea for you to be friends with him. You’re way too invested in his romantic life to be friends.

Decide what YOU want and you’ll feel a lot better about things — but my advice is not to be friends with him. 🙂
