Hi April,

I am a divorced 42 yr old mom of 3. Been divorced over 3 years and recently met a guy younger than me … he is 26. He pursued me and after deciding that I didnt care what anyone thinks I decided to go for it and have fallen deeply in love with him. Whenever I say I Love you to him he responds that he loves me more (so cute right!). Being out of the dating pool for awhile and especially never having dated someone that much younger than me i need some help…

1. He has posted pics of us on Facebook (kissing, hugging etc) (does this mean that I am officially his girlfriend?)
2. His Mom has shared those posts (does this mean she is accepting of our relationship?)

He treats me like a queen and wants to marry me and we would both love to have a baby together…

Can this work? Help!

Yes — this can work! But…. if he wants a baby together, and you’re 42, consider that what he wants is going to be a little tougher than if you were 32. Explore this topic and figure out if it’s a deal breaker for him, or if you’re both interested in adoption or other methods of having a baby just in case the natural way doesn’t work out.

If he’s sharing photos of the two of you as a couple, it means he’s proud and into the relationship. You didn’t mention how long the two of you have been dating…. that’s kind of key to what the sharing means, etc. If you’ve only been dating a few months, it’s too soon to know whether this can go the distance or not. If it’s been two years that you’ve been dating, then I’d say this relationship is in a good place for a future. That his mom is sharing the photos of you and her son is definitely a good sign!

Thanks for your reply April!! We only been together almost a year… I know its probably still to early but at least we seem to be headed in the right direction..so one day at a time is the way Im going. I will definately keep you in the loop regarding us! 🙂
