Just call me Lucas I’m 33, and I’ve been in a relationship with my girlfriend Ellise, 29 for almost seven years. At first, everything was okay but now it feels like things have changed. Our relationship doesn’t feel the same anymore. We argue more often even over small things and it feels like we’re starting to lose respect for each other whenever we end up shouting. I love her and I don’t want to just give up without trying to fix our relationship. The problem is, I don’t know where to start. I’ve tried talking to her about our issues but it feels like she doesn’t want to listen and the same problems keep happening over and over again. I wish we could go back to the time when we were happier and didn’t argue so often, when we understood each other better instead of always blaming each other for our fights.

How do I bring back the sweetness and romantic connection that seems to have faded after being together for a long time? Is there still a chance to fix how we treat each other? What should I do to bring back the excitement she used to feel when she’s with me?

There is still hope. You just need to talk about the problems you’re seeing in your relationship. Discuss how both of you can adjust and learn so that those situations don’t happen again.

It would be better to use your problems as a foundation so your relationship can become even stronger and more stable.

Just talk to each other if you still want your relationship to last. If the answer is yes, then you should both agree to make time for each other—start having quality time again and go on dates like you’re courting her all over again so the excitement and “kilig” can come back.
