I have a boyfriend – we’ve been together since college and now it’s been 6 years. Before, we were always excited to see each other, go out with friends and sometimes even go on vacations. But since last month, it feels like our relationship has slowly started to grow cold, especially after he was assigned to work far away. He used to call and text me often to give updates but now he rarely calls and sometimes he doesn’t even send messages the whole day. I’m starting to think that maybe he had met someone else, which is why he’s become distant and no longer feels the need to update me or talk to me. How can I say if our relationship is over? Is it right to let go without strong reason and just my instinct that he’s not interested in me anymore? Because that’s what he’s making me feel right now.

It’s better to talk first and not make any sudden decisions. It’s important that you try to find out why he suddenly changed—there might actually be a valid reason for it. So talk to him first. What matters most is that you are open with each other.

After being together for a long time, it’s normal that sometimes you start to feel bored with each other. My advice is to open up to him about what you’re noticing, because he might not even be aware of it due to how busy he is with work.

You both need to have quality time together again so you can reconnect. Also, don’t forget to take care of yourself—make yourself look good and feel confident. Try to dress up and take care of your appearance so the spark between you two can come back, just like when your relationship first started.
