Hello everyone, I am a young man who just finished my first year of college. Back in high school, starting mostly in Sophomore year I have really liked this girl. We have shared many memories together even though we never dated. We both liked each other to an extent. Anyway, we have not spoken to each other since high school. This is mostly due because of me. I asked her to prom and she lied and said she already had a date. Furious, i decided to stop talking to her. It has been over a year now and want to give her one more chance because i want to believe that she has changed now and will give me the time of day. So, what i am asking is, should i contact her and try to get one more chance with her or just try to forget about her?

Definitely contact her, but adjust your standards. She probably lied to you because either she was waiting for someone else to ask her or she didn’t want to go with you. Rather than tell you either of those reasons, she lied to not hurt your feelings. I’m guessing that you’re more angry she said no — not that she lied. So if you do contact her, which I think you should, be sunny and happy to talk to her — not angry about the distant past. 😉
