April,

I have been in a relationship for 3 yrs. , now unfortunately, the relationship began while he was in a miserable marriage and he left his wife of 17 years a year after we met.

We have a great relationship he has 2 kids , I have 1 everyone gets along we travel back and forth every week to each other’s homes, he wants me to move in with him however, every time I or someone else brings up marriage he will not give an answer, so obviously the answer is NO, he does not want to get married.

I am 43, never been married, I truly love him and want to marry him, I can’t imagine my life without him. I feel like I am in an unstable relationship, there is really no future, no commitment, what’s the point? It’s obvious he doesn’t care if anyone else comes along and/ or he certainly doesn’t plan on being with me the rest of his life. He tells me, one reason is because he was married almost his whole life and all they did was fight and lived separate lives, poor excuse!!!!

He’s very good to me but this is weighing on me.

I’m sorry you’re stressed and depressed, but you have good reason to be. You’re 43 and want to get married, but you’re staying with a man who doesn’t want to get married. The math is pretty simple. 😉 My advice is to find a man who wants what you want. You won’t be stressed and depressed if you’re on the same page with the person you’re dating. 🙂
